How do I mount my speakers to the Stealth-Shelf ?
You can mount your speakers from the top conventionally or for security reasons from underneath the shelf, simply cut your holes (or we can do this for you) and screw your speakers onto the shelf.
Will the new Stealth-Shelf lift with my tailgate ?
Yes, if your original shelf has hangers then ours will also, except where it is impractical to do so.
Will the Stealth-Shelf carpet match my interior existing shelf colour?
In most cases yes, we offer many shades of grey but we cannot overcome any fading that may occur on some older vehicle interiors due to sunlight or age.
Why don't I just use my existing parcel shelf to mount my speakers?
1. Your existing shelf is more than likely to be the standard pressed cardboard and carpet mix, it's very un-stable and would VIBRATE and MOVE more than your speakers.

2. You would not be able to HIDE your speakers from sight, they would most likely be stolen by would be thieves if you don't.

3. When you sell the car you would have to leave your speakers in the shelf, or leave gaping holes for the new owner.

4. An MDF Stealth-Shelf would give concert hall performance, as it is acoustically dead, your bass response even on a standard 6x9 speaker would be amazing.

Can I replace my original shelf when I sell the car?
Yes, all of our Stealth-Shelves are direct replacements for the original parcel shelf.
What's the difference between a Stealth-Shelf and a Flat Supershelf ?
1. A Stealth-Shelf is modelled on the original manufacturers parcel shelf, it will replicate all the contours of the original shelf so that would be thieves would not tell the difference between the two, great theft prevention.

2. A Supershelf is the conventional flat shelf WITHOUT contours, it is still machined with exacting measurements to fit the vehicle, but it's completely flat and supplied with carpet as on the Stealth-Shelf.
What's the difference between the Kit Form shelf and the Pre-Trimmed shelf ?
The KIT FORM Stealth-Shelf or Supershelf comes as a kit, you are supplied with the shelf, carpet covering, eyelets, cord hangers, hinges and instructions, you have to cut your required hole sizes with a jigsaw (or we can cut them for you) and cover the shelf yourself, this would normally take 1-3 hours depending on your trimming skills.

The Pre-Trimmed Stealth-Shelf or Supershelf is READY-TO-GO, when you order the shelf you tell us the colour of trim and speaker make/model you want to use and we will do the rest, when you receive the shelf you simply screw your speakers to it and connect your wires.
Can I fit Subwoofers to the Stealth-Shelf ?
Initially yes, dependent on whether the size of the subwoofer will fit between the contours of the shelf, however, we would not recommend mounting the subwoofer underneath the shelf as it will be moving a great deal of air, this air should not be restricted by any covering especially carpet.
Will the carpet muffle the sound of my speakers ?
No, The carpet covering we use is Acoustically Transparent and will not muffle the sound of a good quality pair of speakers, you may find a slight reduction in very high frequency's that you most probably wouldn't hear anyway.
Will the Supershelf or Stealth-Shelf increase my bass ?
Oh Yes, the bass response will be increased considerably.
What speakers would you recommend for the Stealth-Shelf and Supershelf ?
We always recommend a good quality 6x9 type of speaker, especially a 3 way type, this type of speaker gives a good all round bandwidth with good bass response and top end reproduction. Of course you can choose what you like, any size of speaker should fit our range of shelves.
Can I purchase spare carpet to trim the boot/trunk of my car to match the shelf ?
Yes, we offer 2m and 5m rolls of all the carpet range used for the shelves- see our carpet section for more details.
Will the Supershelf or Stealth-Shelf be too heavy for my shelf side panels ?
The average Supershelf or Stealth-Shelf is roughly 9kg, this is heavier than the flimsy original parcel shelf but in most modern cars the side supports are more than strong enough to take the extra weight.
